What the room keeps, and who sees it, is explained next to the room itself.

The room

Who sees what

Plain answers about your conversation, your email address, and the people listed in the room.

Your conversation

  • The Triage team reads it and replies to it.
  • Being listed in the room does not give anyone access to it.
  • Other visitors never see it. Each visitor sees only their own conversations.
  • Anyone who can read the email address you give can open your conversation from the links we send there.
  • Replies are signed “The Triage team”. A person on the Triage team writes each one, and some people who answer may not be listed in the room.
  • Each reply shows the name and initials of the person who wrote it. Some people who answer may not be listed in the room.

Your email address

  • The Triage team sees it next to your conversation.
  • We use it only to email you links back to your conversations, and a note when someone replies.
  • Those emails carry only links. Your messages stay in the room. We send them through Resend, an email delivery service.
  • Every email has a link to stop our emails to that address. Once you have opened the room from one of our emails, “Stop emails” in the room’s menu does the same.
  • We keep it so the team knows who is writing. Links by email are not switched on yet.
  • We do not add it to a mailing list.

Notices when you write

  • When you write, we get a notice by push and by email. It carries only a conversation number. Your words and your email address stay in the room.
  • When you write, we get a notice by push. It carries only a conversation number. Your words and your email address stay in the room.

Software and a person

Software

  • Stores your conversation, sends the emails and the notices, and shows when people were last active.
  • Stores your conversation, sends the notices, and shows when people were last active.

A person

  • A member of the Triage team reads your message and writes every reply.

The people listed in the room

  • Everyone listed agreed to appear in the room, and can ask to be taken off it at any time.
  • If you are listed and want to be taken off, write to us in the room and we take you off the list.
  • The time beside a name is when that person last used the room page while signed in, or changed how they appear in the room. Nothing else is counted, and nothing is estimated.
  • The most recently active are listed first. Names in lighter type belong to people who are away, who have not been active in the room for a week or more, or who have not used the room yet.
  • People shown without a time have not used the room yet, or chose not to show it.
  • “Away” means that person is not around at the moment, until the date shown when there is one. The room says nothing more about what anyone is doing.

Deleting

  • You can delete a conversation, or everything the room holds about you, from the room’s menu at any time. It is removed from the room at once.
  • You can delete your conversations from the room’s menu, in the browser you wrote them in, at any time. They are removed from the room at once.
  • You can close a conversation yourself. A conversation with no new message for 90 days closes by itself.
  • Closed conversations are deleted automatically 12 months after they close.
  • The room keeps your IP address for up to a day, scrambled with a secret key, only to limit abuse.
  • The server that hosts triage.io also keeps standard access logs: IP address, browser, and the page address, which includes what you ticked in the check.
  • If you ask us to stop emails, we keep your address in scrambled form so we can keep that promise.
  • If you delete from a browser that has not opened one of our emails, the stop links in emails we already sent keep working for up to 180 days after sending, so the room keeps your address in scrambled form until then.

Your rights

  • You can ask for a copy of what the room holds about you, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it. Write to us in the room. You can also delete it yourself from the room’s menu.
